American Traveler is seeking a travel RN in Labor & Delivery for Bel Air, Maryland, with night shifts in an LDRP unit and a 13-week assignment. The role requires recent LDRD experience, active RN licensure, and BLS/NRP certifications. The position features a 36-hour work week and no on-call duties.

Start date is 01/26/2026 with trip coverage, weekly payroll, and travel-related benefits. You will support high-risk maternity care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active MD or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, STABLE, FHM, and AWHONN (basic/intermediate/advanced) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
• Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and high-risk maternity cases.
• Special procedures include antenatal testing, induction, C-section care, and management of pre-eclampsia.
• Unit contains 14 LDRP beds, 9 overflow beds, 2 triage beds, 2 antenatal testing bays, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU bays, and a 9-bed Level II NICU.
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: triage 1:4, early labor/induction 1:2, active labor 1:1, C-section 1:1, postpartum 1:4
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Floating may be required within the specialty and to sister units as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients before, during, and after labor and delivery including both standard and high-risk cases
• Work collaboratively within an LDRP team structure and support Special Care Nursery operations
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Orientation and support are provided for new staff
