Job summary

TotalMed RN in Washington, DC is seeking a Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse for a 13‑week assignment. The role requires 3 years of recent acute care experience, working 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.

This travel position offers a stipend and the chance to contribute to high‑acuity obstetric care. You will monitor labor progress, assist physicians, support pain management, provide immediate newborn care, and ensure patient safety in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/dilation.
• Ensure beds are clean and dry; clean up bodily fluids.
• Aid physician with delivery instruments and preparation.
• Immediate care of newborn.
