Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift in a high-volume unit delivering approximately 3,000 babies annually. Requires KY or compact RN licensure and current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications. ADN/ASN required; BSN preferred. Night shifts are 7PM–7AM, 3x12-hour weeks, with 36 hours weekly and 0.9 FTE.

No prior nursing experience is required, though it is preferred. Local candidates within 75 miles may receive a lower pay rate. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred.
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with care team members.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Labor and Delivery unit with 14 LDR rooms, 3 ORs, and a 4-bed OB ED.
• Unit delivers approximately 3,000 babies annually.
• Care spans low- to high-risk pregnancies with 24/7 anesthesia, neonatology, and OB support.
• Nurses manage both maternal and newborn care.
• Night shift schedule: 7PM to 7AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week.
• 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE.
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for maternal and newborn patients.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities along with patient and family education.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures.
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, with local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate.
