Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Labor and Delivery travel nurse in Frederick, MD. This RN role requires 3 years of acute care experience and relevant certifications; shift is 12 hours, nights, with 48 hours per week, travel employment.

L&D RNs provide care for mothers and newborns, assist with epidurals, cesarean prep, and perinatal monitoring, while supporting physicians and families throughout labor and delivery.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH, EFM, AWHONN, NRP certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression.
• Maintain beds clean and dry; clean up fluids before/after birth.
• Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, instruments.
• Provide immediate newborn care.
