Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
- Valid RN license in accordance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- NRP Certification.
Responsibilities
- Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques.
- Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor, delivery, and exams.
- Provide immediate postpartum care and assess mother and newborn.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and team members.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
- Document care in the medical record.
