Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Glendale, California. This role is a 13-week assignment with a 36-hour work week and night shifts in a fast-paced L&D unit.

Ideal candidates have 3 years of acute care experience, ACLS and BLS, and California RN licensure. L&D RNs support women before, during and after delivery, assist physicians with epidurals and cesareans, and provide immediate newborn care.

Qualifications

• 3 years of acute care experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Active California RN license required

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression
• Maintain beds clean and dry; manage fluids as needed
• Assist physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, and delivery instruments
• Provide immediate care to newborn and assist during delivery for cesarean prep
