Job summary

TEKsystems c/o Allegis Group seeks a Field Technician for a travel-heavy role based in the Knoxville, TN area. You will install IT hardware, pull and terminate low-voltage cabling, mount displays, and coordinate with remote teams to complete on-site configurations.

The position requires hands-on field experience, comfort with ladders and power tools, and the ability to work long hours while traveling 75% or more of the time. A vehicle rental is expected in this role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in a field installation or install technician role.
• Low-voltage cabling: pulling, terminating, punchdowns.
• Comfort with power tools, ladders, and tight/overhead spaces.
• Basic IT knowledge to connect hardware and troubleshoot peripherals.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve on long workdays (8-10+ hours).
• Must be based in the Knoxville, TN metro area and able to rent a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Pulling, terminating, and running Cat5/Cat6 cable, drop downs, and data/phone lines
• Installing and connecting IT hardware including routers, switches, desktops, and POS machines
• Mounting TVs and monitors, drilling through sheetrock and concrete, working in ceilings
• Coordinating with remote IT teams to troubleshoot and configure devices on-site
• Supporting new buildouts, PC refreshes, countertop upgrades, and more
