Job summary

Trailblazer Staffing Solutions is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) in Charlottesville, VA. The IR Tech will operate advanced imaging equipment to assist interventional radiologists during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of IR or special procedures experience, ARRT Radiography certification, and an active radiologic license. Travel assignment offers competitive pay, benefits, and support from US-based recruiters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of IR tech or special procedures tech experience.
• Active ARRT Radiography certification (R) required; VI or CI preferred.
• Active state radiologic technologist license or permit where applicable.
• Current CPR/BLS; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in and assist IR physicians during complex vascular and non-vascular procedures (angioplasties, embolizations, stent placements, line insertions).
• Operate and position fluoroscopy, C-arm, and 3D imaging equipment per ALARA standards.
• Prepare, sterilize, and handle procedural trays and interventional devices.
• Monitor image quality, process DSA images, and transfer studies to PACS/RIS.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, sterile draping, and shielding.
• Perform routine equipment QC and support inventory and call rotations.
