Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist - Special Procedures with 1+ years of IR experience, including neuro (stroke) and trauma (body) cases, for a level 1 trauma center. Work in a fast-paced IR lab with a comprehensive stroke program and rotate 4x10 hour mornings.

Responsibilities include performing IR procedures under radiologist supervision, patient prep, adherence to safety and infection-control policies, and documenting patient data.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of IR experience required.
  • Neuro (stroke) and Trauma (body) experience required.
  • BLS (AHA Only) certification required.
  • ARRT (R) certification required.
  • TX-MRT license required.
  • Active TX license required if applicable.
  • Flu shot required with no exemptions granted.
  • 2 professional references required.

Responsibilities

  • Interventional Radiology Lab setting within a level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke program.
  • Performs IR procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients for diagnosis of disease and injury.
  • 4x10 hour AM shifts, Monday-Friday with a rotating day off.
  • Call required.
  • Performs high quality IR procedures under general supervision of a Radiologist according to established protocols.
  • Uses AIDET communication techniques with patients and families to explain procedures and confirm exam accuracy.
  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures, including positioning and adjusting immobilization devices.
  • Adheres to safety, infection-control, and radiation policies, using proper sterile techniques for invasive procedures.
  • Maintains equipment, work area, and supply inventory, coordinating with engineers and physicists as needed.
  • Screens individuals for department entry per safety protocols.
  • Maintains accurate documentation including patient history, consent forms, and imaging records.
  • Provides care across all age groups from newborn to geriatric.
  • May serve as a preceptor for new team members.
  • Scrubs provided.
  • Candidates must be able to respond to the hospital in under 30 minutes due to trauma and stroke team responsibilities.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted.
