Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Jacksonville, FL. The IR tech will assist physicians in minimally invasive procedures using imaging technology, prepare patients and equipment, operate fluoroscopy and other imaging modalities, and support the interventional radiology lab.

Requirements include one year of IR tech experience, ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• Preferred ACLS certification (AHA/ARC) or ENPC/PALS as applicable
• Other licenses or certifications may be required for this position

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
• Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
• Ensure proper radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
• Manage and restock procedural supplies such as catheters and contrast agents
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and team members to provide seamless patient care
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
• Perform other duties to support IR lab operations
• Follow hospital safety and regulatory standards
