Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Infusion for a travel nursing job in Hyannis, Massachusetts. This position focuses on infusion therapy and PICC line management, delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced travel assignment.

The role requires at least one year of infusion RN experience, BLS certification, and eligibility for state licensure, with additional certifications potentially needed. Expect 40 hours weekly on days, with a 13-week contract in a travel setting.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN infusion experience is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Eligible for State licensure in the destination.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting a travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine infusion therapy or PICC needs.
• Insert, maintain, and care for PICC lines and central venous access devices, with safety as a priority.
• Administer IV medications, fluids, and other treatments as prescribed with correct technique and monitoring.
• Monitor patient responses during and after infusions; adjust care plans as needed based on progress or side effects.
• Educate patients and families on PICC care and infusion therapy and home management of complications.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care and ensure continuity across settings.
• Assess for and prevent infusion-related complications; document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols and manage equipment disposal properly.
