Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU travel RN for a Level 1 Trauma assignment in Phoenix, AZ. The 13-week assignment offers 36 hours per week, with 12-hour day shifts and self-scheduling, plus three weekend shifts every four weeks and holiday coverage by core staff.

Requirements include AZ or Compact license, 2+ years ICU in a 600+ bed teaching hospital, and current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Travel and licensure reimbursements, benefits from day one, and various per diems are provided.

Qualifications

• Active AZ license or Compact license required at application
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience in a 600+ bed teaching hospital
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Must have Level 1 trauma ICU experience
• Must pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam (two attempts permitted)
• Must pass sterile technique SIMs Lab on Day 1
• Two professional references: one supervisor (past 12 months) and one peer or supervisor (past 3 years)

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage adult ICU patients with complex needs in a Level 1 trauma hospital
• Cover ICU pods including MICU, SICU, Trauma ICU and related units
• Titrate drips and interpret telemetry strips
• Perform bedside procedures such as bronchs and trachs
• Maintain Cerner EMR documentation
• Work 12-hour day shifts with self-scheduling and weekend coverage
• Floating to different ICU pods and campuses as needed
• Orientation includes unit shifts and SIMs Lab day
• Provide care in a high-stress trauma environment with 24/7 support from intensivists and respiratory therapy
