Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a 13-week travel assignment. The role requires ICU expertise, CA RN license, and prior travel nursing experience.

You will provide direct ICU care on 3x12-hour day shifts, with a 1:2 patient ratio, and must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local rate; otherwise travel rate applies. Local and traveler options available.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Charting system experience required.
• Skilled in IV therapy, central and arterial line management, blood product administration, and PICC line management.
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.
• ABG interpretation, CVP monitoring, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade administration.
• Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• ICU setting within a hospital environment.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Utilizes an electronic charting system.
• Provide direct ICU-level care to critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and complex interventions.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local rate; otherwise travel rate applies.
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate.
• Returning staff or travelers must have a one-year separation before reapplying.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract.
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
• Must complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• First-time travelers may be considered if travel experience requirement is met.
