Job summary

Johnson Barrow seeks a Traveling HVAC/Chiller Service Technician to perform start-up, commissioning, and ongoing service for commercial HVAC systems nationwide. This remote-based role involves up to 80% travel with a rotation that balances home time and business needs.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing equipment, verifying control systems, documenting work, and communicating performance and improvements to customers while upholding safety standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience (installation background a plus).
• Advanced knowledge of the refrigeration cycle.
• Advanced understanding of wiring schematics and troubleshooting.
• EPA Type 1 & 2 Refrigerant Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment start-up and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize system life and efficiency.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment issues such as electrical faults or refrigerant leaks.
• Verify that control systems and safety devices are functioning correctly.
• Document all service and maintenance work performed and communicate with customers.
