Job summary

ProAutomated is seeking curious, adaptable problem-solvers for a travel-focused role that operates with no fixed office. You will support data center startups, lead testing for warehouse and manufacturing systems, and collaborate with controls engineers on-site across North America.

The role offers four-week paid training, a starting salary range of $60,000–$75,000, per diem, mileage reimbursement, bonuses, and growth opportunities including annual merit raises and a 5% raise after six months.

Qualifications

• Willingness to travel and be away from home.
• Technical degree or 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical/mechanical/automation engineering.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Live within 50 miles of a major airport and have a vehicle within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Support data center startups: on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
• Lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse and manufacturing systems.
• Collaborate with automation engineers to test and validate systems on-site.
• Provide clear updates to customers and project teams.
• Navigate travel rotations: 5 on/2 off, 10 on/4 off, or 14 on/7 off.
