Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced Travel Fiber Splicer for nationwide projects in data centers and hyperscale environments. This 100% travel role involves preparing, splicing, testing, and documenting fiber installations with emphasis on safety and quality.

The position requires at least 2 years of fiber splicing/testing, OTDR/OLTS proficiency, and the ability to read detailed fiber schematics. Per diem, lodging, and travel expenses are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on fiber optic splicing & testing.
• Experience in Data Centers, Hyperscale, ISP, OSP, FTTH/FTTx.
• 2+ years using OTDR, OLTS, and Visual Fault Locator equipment.
• Ability to read fiber schematics, drawings, splice records, work prints, and project docs.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong troubleshooting and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion splicing on single-mode and high-density fiber optic cables.
• Conduct Tier 1 and Tier 2 testing with OTDR/OLTS equipment.
• Update splice matrices, engineering drawings, and test reports.
• Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, project managers, and field personnel.
