Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Trauma ER - Emergency Department position in South Charleston, West Virginia. The assignment runs 13 weeks starting 01/05/2026, with 36 hours per week across 12-hour day shifts in a busy P4 Trauma Center.

The RN will handle a high-acuity patient mix with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, utilizing Epic EMR, and providing critical care with drips and ventilatory support. Travel compensation includes stipends and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Active ER or critical care experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy Emergency Department within a P4 Trauma Center setting.
• 28-bed unit with trauma/code rooms and psych/seclusion rooms.
• Manage care for patients from infants to geriatrics with trauma, stroke, sepsis.
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4 with 70–75 patients daily.
• Use Epic EMR for documentation and order entry.
• Interpret ECGs and draw radial ABGs; manage critical care drips and vents.
• No floating, no on-call or standby shifts; 3x12 hour day shifts with weekend rotation.
