Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift Emergency Department role at a P4 Trauma Center, requiring critical care skills and prior travel experience.

The position involves 12-hour night shifts (36 hours/week) in a high-volume ED with STEMI/stroke receiving duties and a collaborative care model across ED physicians, RNs, ER techs and RTs. Travel nursing experience and WV compact license are required; TNCC preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Active WV or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred but not required.
• Critical care skills including dysrhythmias, drips, BiPAP/CPAP, and ventilation.
• Radial ABG draw experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 28-bed ER/P4 Trauma Center.
• Handle STEMI and stroke receiving cases with volume 70–75 patients per day.
• Collaborate with ED physicians, mid‑levels, ER techs, respiratory therapy and phlebotomy staff.
• Read bedside monitor strips and manage critical care drips.
• RT available 24/7 for vents, CPAP, BiPAP and high‑flow oxygen.
• 12‑hour night shifts totaling 36 hours per week with block scheduling.
• No call or standby, no floating, and weekend rotation as required.
