Job summary

Healthforce is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Emergency Department in Bakersfield, California. The position runs for 13 weeks starting Oct 26, 2026, with nights (12-hour shifts) and weekly pay between $2,090 and $2,279.

Responsibilities include delivering direct ED care, triage, meds administration, and collaboration with the care team. Active CA RN license or eligibility, BLS, and 1 year ED/acute care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license or eligible licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year ER/acute care experience in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in the ED according to established standards and nursing process.
• Perform triage, patient assessment, ongoing monitoring and reassessment across all ages.
• Administer medications and therapies, establish IV access, and interpret diagnostic data.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers and other disciplines to coordinate timely care.
• Document care in the electronic health record and ensure continuity of care during shifts.
• Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff as appropriate to maintain patient safety.
