Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of an Administrator II, the Administrator I supervises the activities of the Travel and Employee Services Unit. These activities include, managing FTB's $10 million Revolving Fund, processing claims and direct charged items for travel, payroll distribution for the enterprise, issuance and collection of salary & travel advances, help desk functions and training for the California Automated Travel and Expense Reimbursement Sytem (CalATERS). The Administrator I also insures that FTB travel policies follow the policies set forth by CalHR, Department of General Services (DGS, SAM, Government Code and Bargaining Unit contracts.
Separation of Duties
The duties of this position include responsibilities covered by SAM Section 7280. To ensure proper
separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (husband, wife, brother or sister) works in the Accounting Section.
This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may require excess hours to be worked.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Knowledge and experience in State Fund accounting principles and procedures
- Knowledge of the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal)
- Knowledge of the California Automated Travel & Employee Reimbursement System (CalATERS) or travel administration experience
- Ability to work successfully under the pressure of tight deadlines, variable workloads, and changing priorities
- Experience working as a Lead to professional Accounting staff
- Strong leadership and staff development skills to motivate, mentor, and build a successful team
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of Staff and Management
- Ability to be flexible and to think creatively to resolve complex and sensitive issues
- Knowledge of Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) programs and operations
- Ability to effectively present ideas and information both orally and in writing
- Ability to apply appropriate laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures that will produce desired results
- Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and planning skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent time management
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective action
- Possess a 4-year college degree in Accounting
- Involvement in a diversity of activities, program areas, and/or positions that have provided you with a greater understanding and appreciation for the broader perspective of the department/enterprise
- Demonstrated performance encouraging positive relationships, creating high job satisfaction, encourag ing success, showing understanding, and being trusting and supportive
