Duties and Responsibilities

Emergency Room registered nurses (RN) provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life‑threatening conditions.

• Assess, intervene, and stabilize a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action.
• Maintain knowledge of general and specific health issues relevant to urgent care situations.
• Apply triage principles to prioritize injuries based on medical need.
• Conduct quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients, including physical and mental health conditions.
