American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift EEG Technologist for a short-term acute care facility supporting epilepsy monitoring and critical care patients. The role requires 2+ years of EEG tech experience, ABRET and BLS/R.EEG T certifications, and rotation through night shifts.

Cerner charting will be used, and travel to affiliated hospitals may be required. Ideal candidates have experience with EEG setups (including sEEG, sleep EEGs, and ambulatory EEG) and are comfortable working 3x12s from

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an EEG Technologist.
ABRET, BLS, and R.EEG T. certifications required.
CLTM certification preferred.
License required if applicable.
Experience with electrode placement, long term/video monitoring, sleep and sleep deprived EEG, and portable recording.

Responsibilities

In a short-term acute care hospital EEG department.
Case types include Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, sEEG, Neurotelemetry, Ictal SPECT, routine EEG, trauma, and critical care.
Team may support adult patients at an affiliated hospital and MLD unit as needed.
Night shift, 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Call coverage required.
Floating to an affiliate hospital nearby is required for all travelers.
Uses Cerner for charting.
Perform EEG hookups, routines, and monitoring across pediatric and adult patient populations.
May assist with EMG/nerve conduction studies and evoked potential testing.
Check, operate, and calibrate EEG equipment according to standard procedure.

Requirements

Experience with electrode placement, long term/video monitoring, sleep and sleep deprived EEG, and portable recording
Preferred experience with ambulatory EEG, EMG, evoked potentials (auditory, motor, somatosensory, visual), and collodion/glue EEG hook-up
Preferred experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Level I or II Trauma settings
2 supervisor references required
SSN and DOB required for consideration

One pre-approved time-off request allowed per contract
Prior IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
Travelers with 12 months of accrued IU Health travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility
