Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Echo Technologist for a travel job in Normal, Illinois. The role requires 1 year of echocardiography experience, BLS, and ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS certification, with state licensing as required.

You will operate the cardiac ultrasound machine and ensure accurate images for physician interpretation. You will educate patients, perform Doppler and stress echo studies, and manage documentation and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of experience.
• Must have BLS, ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RS National Certification and state-specific licensing when required.
• Echo Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• Echo Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and/or patient's family regarding procedures performed
• Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies
• Consistently perform quality Doppler and color Doppler Exams
• Acquire quality Stress Echo and Dobutamine images according to Physician and benchmark standards
• Perform quality Trans esophageal echocardiograms according to physician expectations
• Demonstrate an understanding of cardiac disease processes and acquired images
• Report findings or concerns to reading physician for prompt interpretation
• Perform all related processing required for each completed study
• Maintain equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure and identifying problems with equipment and reporting appropriately
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
