Job summary

Health Saviours is seeking a travel Echo Technician for a 13-week assignment in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The role requires performing diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and children in a high-volume hospital setting, with a 4-day, 10-hour shift pattern (7:00 AM–5:30 PM).

The incumbent must be ARDMS/CCI registered or registry eligible, hold a NM Echo Sonographer License, and maintain BLS certification. Weekends and on-call duties are not required, and collaboration with cardiology is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two year allied health education program related to patient care.
• Two years actively performing echocardiograms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs technically proficient 2D, M-mode and Doppler echocardiograms.
• Coordinates with hospital departments for scheduling, transport, and accurate billing information.
• Assists cardiologist during exams by preparing M-modes and exchanging pertinent information for diagnosis.
• Delivers, retrieves and distributes dictations in a timely manner.
• Responds to patient needs during exams and reports changes to physician or nurse.
• Orders Echo supplies and maintains clean, stocked rooms.
• Logs patients and exams; files records in the department.
• Participates in performance improvement activities at various levels; supports on-call coverage for echo emergencies.
• Maintains quality control of equipment and coordinates repairs when needed.
• Keeps current with events in Echocardiography and seeks guidance from cardiologists on new skills.
