Job summary

ProAutomated in the United States is seeking candidates for a travel‑driven field role in automation engineering. You’ll support data center startups, perform on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment systems.

You’ll collaborate with automation and controls engineers to test and validate systems on-site, with regular travel across North America.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking.
3+ years of hands-on experience in related field such as electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering.
Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

Support data center startups, performing on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
Lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems.
Partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on-site.
Provide clear communication and updates to customers and project teams to keep progress smooth and accurate.
Typical travel rotations follow a days on & off schedule: 5 on - 2 off, 10 on – 4 off, or 14 on – 7 off. Every project brings new challenges and new locations.
