Job summary

DCS is seeking a Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks. The role requires travel across Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, and Colorado, with a shop base in Oklahoma City.

A service truck is provided and candidates must be comfortable working independently in the field. Key responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting of diesel systems, electrical and emissions diagnostics, and fabrication as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a diesel mechanic, heavy-duty experience preferred.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems.
• Fabrication and welding experience required.
• ASE certifications preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license; must pass a DOT physical.
• Willingness to travel frequently across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Travel between job sites to diagnose and repair medium/high‑duty diesel trucks and related equipment.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical, hydraulic, emissions, transmissions, A/C, Hi-Rail, and spray systems.
• Use scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, and gauges to identify failures.
• Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventive services.
• Maintain service documentation and communicate repair updates to management.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and DOT regulations.
• Work extended hours as needed and handle weather-related conditions.
• Maintain and organize the service truck and parts inventory.
