Job summary

American Traveler seeks a CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital with Magnet status. Must have 2+ years of CVOR/trauma experience and NBSTSA CST certification, plus BLS. The role includes a 13-week contract, 4x10-hour days, and on-call Friday–Sunday with weekly call duties.

CVOR and First Assist duties are required, including work on high-volume cardiovascular cases and potential floating to other units or campuses as needed. Travel experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold NBSTSA CST certification and active licensure if applicable.
• Minimum 2 yearsCVOR/trauma experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• CVOR and First Assist experience required.
• Epic EMR experience (1 year) required.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with complex cardiovascular procedures (e.g., CABG, aortic repair) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• 13-week contract length.
• On-call after shift hours Fri through Sun, with at least two days of call weekly and 1–2 weekends every 6-week cycle.
• CVOR unit averages 3 heart cases per day.
• First Assist role required in addition to CST duties.
• Floating to other units or campuses based on census, within qualification training.
• Occasional floating to Main OR when CVOR volume is low.
• Support advanced cardiovascular surgical procedures in a high-volume CVOR department.
