Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist for a community hospital assignment requiring cardiovascular and vascular case experience. Day shift, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with firm call and travel requirements.

The role covers CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR with cases including CABG, aortic repair, carotid procedures, EVAR/TEVAR, plus thoracic and transplant support. On-site drug screening is required; local candidates are not accepted and travelers must reside outside a 50-mile

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Community hospital experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required.
• License required if applicable.
• Experience with vascular and cardiovascular procedures including CABG, AAA repair, and carotid interventions.
• Isolation precautions/PPE, laser safety, specimen handling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures.
• Hybrid OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Community hospital setting within the CVOR, General OR, and Hybrid OR.
• Cardiovascular and vascular surgical caseload including CABG, mitral valve replacement, aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and EVAR/TEVAR procedures.
• Supports thoracic and transplant cases such as VATS, mediastinoscopy, and organ donation procedures.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM).
• Call requirements are firm.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• Assist in the preparation and execution of complex cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper instrument and equipment readiness for CVOR cases.
• Support surgical teams during high-acuity procedures such as CABG, TEVAR, and carotid endarterectomy.
• Participate in specimen handling, labeling, and safety protocols including laser safety and Universal Protocol time-outs.
• Expect to work some holidays as part of scheduling requirements.
• On-site drug screening required upon arrival, including testing for marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation.
• First-time travelers may be considered.
• Local candidates are not accepted.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for this travel position.
