Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist for a weekend coverage assignment requiring 3+ years of full-time CVOR CST experience in a high-volume hospital setting.

Responsibilities include supporting cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures, TAVR, and an endovascular OR. The weekend schedule runs 0645-1915 on Sat/Sun/Mon with optional on-call; travel extension discussed with manager ~45 days before end date. Vaccination not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent full-time experience as a CVOR CST in a high-volume hospital setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment without extensive onboarding
• Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming no training was needed
• BLS certification from AHA
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to assignment start (license required if applicable)
• US Social Security Number and US home address required

Responsibilities

• Hospital CVOR service line providing surgical interventions for routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures
• Cardiac procedures include coronary artery bypass, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device placement, impella or intra-aortic balloon pump placement, and adult ECMO
• TAVR procedures performed in the endovascular OR
• Thoracic cases include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures
• Vascular procedures range from ESRD graft/fistula placement or revision to endovascular procedures
• Service line comprises 4-6 ORs depending on daily volume, including an endovascular suite, with capacity for four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
• Weekend coverage schedule of 0645-1915 on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Call schedule participation not required, though optional participation is at the associate's discretion
• Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered
• Radius rule applies at all Ascension facilities, allowing local candidates but at a reduced rate that varies by state
• Travelers should discuss extension with their manager approximately 45 days before assignment end date
• COVID vaccination is not required
