Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVOR travel nurse in Ann Arbor, MI. The travel RN will circulate for cardiothoracic procedures, support a team of physicians and nurses, and adapt to a fast-paced operating room environment.

Requirements include BLS and 1-2 years of acute care experience; additional certifications may be needed before starting. Pay and hours are based on 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with a tax-free stipend.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as a CVOR RN preferred.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and evaluate nursing care before, during and after a surgical procedure.
• Participate in care of patients receiving conscious sedation.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor vitals.
• Assist physician during procedures in the CVOR.
• Maintain aseptic technique and OR sterility throughout procedures.
• Coordinate the OR with equipment, supplies and sterility during cases.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens after surgery.
