American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a high-volume acute care hospital in California. The role demands 2+ years of CT experience in a community hospital, ARRT CT/R certification, and strong radiation safety knowledge.

Responsibilities include performing 30-40+ scans per 12-hour shift, working in Acute Care, Outpatient, and ED settings, and self-scheduling by seniority. Travel-ready candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BLS, ARRT CT or R, ARRT Advanced, CA CRT, and CT certifications required.

• Experience with abdomen/pelvis, chest, head/neck, and spine CT imaging.
• Contrast media preparation and administration.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety.
• First-time travelers accepted.

• Works in Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, and Emergency Department settings.
• Patient ratio of 1:1.
• Perform 30-40+ CT scans per 12-hour shift.
• Variable day shifts (3x12 hours) 6:00-18:30 or 8:00-20:30.
• Self-scheduling based on seniority.
• May be asked to pick up voluntary shifts outside contracted hours, including nights and graveyard shifts.
• No on-call requirements.
• No floating between like units required, though may float to sister facilities.
• Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend.

• Charting in Epic


• May be asked to transport patients based on staffing needs


• Perform a high volume of CT scans across abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, neck, and spine/musculoskeletal imaging


• Preferred skills include coronary CTA, vascular CTA, brain perfusion, biopsies, aspirations, and drainage procedures


• Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)


• Facility may cancel a shift once every two-week pay period


• Free parking available


• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration


• Returning staff eligible to reapply after 3 months, subject to a 50-mile radius restriction


• Local candidates accepted at a 50-mile radius


• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
