Responsibilities

• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and verify informed consent.
• Administer contrast media following state statutes and institutional policies.
• Maintain universal precautions to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain archival storage of digitized data and educate patients on procedures.
• CT-specific: operate CT equipment and select appropriate protocols for imaging.
• Perform venipunctures as necessary and evaluate CT image quality.
• Complete required CT skills checks for head, spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis.

CT Technologist

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist who is also proficient in X-ray techniques. This position will require a 50/50 balance between performing CT scans and X-ray procedures. Candidates must have the flexibility to float between departments and perform X-ray duties up to half of the time.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiography procedures and interpret images as requested by licensed practitioners.
• Prepare patients for examinations by providing instructions to ensure cooperation and comfort.
• Select and operate radiography equipment, ensuring the correct techniques are used to minimize patient exposure.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures, ensuring informed consent is verified.
• Administer contrast media and medications as prescribed, following state statutes and institutional policies.
• Maintain knowledge of and observe universal precautions to ensure patient safety.
• Maintain archival storage of digitized data and provide patient education on procedures.

Computed Tomography Specific Duties

• Operate Computed Tomographic equipment and select appropriate protocols for imaging.
• Perform venipunctures as necessary and evaluate the quality of CT images.
• Complete required Computed Tomography skills checks, ensuring proficiency in head, spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis anatomy.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Licenses/Certifications: Required to be OBMI and ARRT registered as a CT technologist, with a current BLS certification.
• Preferred: Completion of CRASE training (mandatory if travel assignment exceeds six months).
