Shift Information

This position requires weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for 12 hours, from 7 AM to 7:30 PM.

Minimum Experience

Two years of experience is required.

Certifications and Requirements

• General Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS
• Allied Health Certifications: ARRT(CT)

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Radiologist, the CT Technologist performs all required radiographic procedures and operates computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.

Position Responsibilities

• Transport patients according to their physical capabilities relative to the exams requested.
• Utilize positioning aides as necessary to ensure quality patient exams.
• Operate all CT-associated equipment with proficiency.
• Protect patients in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in the administration of contrast media as prescribed by the Radiologist.
• Contribute to the performance of special procedures.
• Practice sterile techniques and adhere to universal precautions.
• Maintain accurate records as per departmental policies and procedures.
• Clean examination rooms following each patient encounter.
• Restock linen and supplies as necessary.

Required Education & Experience

Applicants must have completed formal radiology technology training from an AMA-approved institution and be registered by the ARRT. A certification as a CT Technologist is mandatory, along with BLS certification.

Physical Demands

This role involves considerable walking, standing, bending, and squatting. The ability to reach forward and overhead is required, as well as some sitting and climbing. Moving and lifting patients and equipment is necessary, with weights ranging from 40 lbs. to 250 lbs. The position also requires manual dexterity to start IVs and the ability to hear and respond to equipment prompts and alarms. Effective verbal communication with patients is essential.
