Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Long Term Care position in Texas. The role requires 2 years of LTC experience and an active OTA license. Day shifts, 8 hours, with no weekends or on-call obligations.

You will implement therapy plans under supervision, support ADLs training, document progress, and help families use adaptive equipment. Generous benefits include housing allowance, travel reimbursements, and education credits.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable.
• Minimum 2 years OTA experience in a long-term care setting.
• DOR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute therapy plans designed by supervising OT to improve motor skills and coordination.
• Train patients in ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques.
• Instruct patients and families on use of adaptive equipment including reachers and mobility aids.
• Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT.
• Provide emotional support to patients and train caregivers on home programs.
• Prepare treatment areas and clean equipment as part of daily responsibilities.
