Job summary

OptiTech Engineering Solutions LLC is seeking experienced Controls Engineers to support conveyor and material handling projects across the United States. This role requires hands-on startup, commissioning, and ongoing troubleshooting on automated systems.

You will travel to customer sites, collaborate with project managers and electricians, and configure drives, PLCs, and HMI to ensure successful project startups. Competitive hourly rate based on experience and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with conveyor and material handling systems.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs.
• Experience using Studio 5000 Logix Designer.
• Experience with FactoryTalk View ME and/or SE.
• Startup and commissioning experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Commission and start up conveyor and material handling systems.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs.
• Perform I/O checkout and system validation.
• Configure and troubleshoot VFDs, servo drives, barcode scanners, photo eyes, and other field devices.
• Support system testing and customer acceptance.
• Diagnose electrical and controls issues during startup.
• Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and mechanical teams.
• Travel to customer sites for project assignments.
