Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a Chat Travel Consultant for its U.S. Military and Government team. You will provide exemplary customer service to Defense & Government travelers before, during, and after business trips, primarily via chat.

You’ll consult on plans, troubleshoot issues, and expertly book or modify domestic and international flights, cars, and hotels. A fast-paced, multi-account environment requires multitasking, teamwork, and a client-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Travel Consultant.
• Experience with GDS Sabre across local and global markets.
• U.S. citizenship required for Federal Government contract.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service mindset and teamwork.
• Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Consult travelers via chat and recommend tailored resolutions.

What You'll Do

Travel plans change frequently. Here’s just some of what you could be doing each day

• Consulting with travelers via Chat so that you can recommend tailored resolutions to immediately meet their needs
• Troubleshooting any customer travel issues via chat
• Assisting travelers by expertly booking and changing domestic and international flights, cars and hotels
• Multi-tasking as you will be conducting multiple customer conversations simultaneously
• Multi-account fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• 3 or more years' experience working as a Travel Consultant
• Experience in GDS (Sabre) across both local and global markets
• U.S. citizenship required due to Federal Government contract
• A genuine passion for high-quality customer service — we care about our customers and it’s important to us that you do
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• A positive, “can do” attitude. Willingness to learn and grow!

• A flair for recognizing customer mood and tone through written communication and delivering extraordinary customer care to meet their requirements
• Ability to fluently speak and write in English
• Computer skills are vital as you’ll be communicating with multiple customers whilst navigating different tools, all day, every day
• Resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure and manage your workload efficiently
• A problem solver, you’ll be able to effectively evaluate issues and offer the best creative solutions with a view to resolving on the first contact
• An eye for detail and accuracy
• Strong time-management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills as you will be handling several different customer inquiries simultaneously
• High level of integrity to work with customer information and meet compliance requirements
• The flexibility to work a shifting schedule

Operating Hours

24 x 7. Must be flexible and prepared to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Salary & Benefits

The US national base salary range for this position is from $39,200.00 - $72,800.00 Annually. The national range provided includes the base salary that the company expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
