Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a community hospital general OR position. Requires at least 2 years of CST experience, BLS, and NBSTSA certification. Travel rates apply with local options at a lower rate; RTO must be submitted with the application.

Ideal candidates will have Meditech charting experience and prefer community hospital settings. Position features day shifts (4x10s), with every other weekend and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• NBSTSA certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of CST experience is required.
• Meditech charting experience is preferred.
• Community hospital experience is preferred.
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 6+ years of experience in the role.
• License is required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Work in a community hospital general OR setting.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required as needed within scope.
• No call requirements.
• Experience with neuro, orthopedic, podiatry, general, and pediatric general surgery is valued.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, instrument processing, sterilization, and universal protocol (time out) procedures expected.
• Familiarity with sterile processing tasks such as assembly/wrap, endoscope reprocessing, and instrument set preparation is beneficial.
• Experience with drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources is useful.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
• RTO must be submitted with application.
• References required for consideration.
