Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment in Waterville, ME. The OTA will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients of all ages develop, improve, or recover skills for daily living and work.

State licensure and NBCOT (COTA) are required. The role emphasizes delivering therapy, progress monitoring, and documentation across a 13-week period at 35 hours per week with a 7-hour shift.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of OTA experience.
• Current BLS and NBCOT (COTA) certifications; state licensure required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, motor function, and occupational therapy principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.
