Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with ARRT certification and at least 1 year of hospital imaging experience for an interventional cardiac cath lab.

Requirements

• ARRT certification required; RCIS not accepted in lieu of ARRT
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree for Radiographer; BSN required
• Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IDNS) Certification required
• BLS and ACLS certification required through AHA
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience in Medical Imaging
• CCI RCIS and CCI RCES certification preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Active Illinois license required at time of consideration; emergency or pending licenses not accepted
• License required if applicable
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, and rotablator atherectomy
• Experience with electrophysiology studies including cardiac ablation, mapping, cardioversion, pacemaker insertion, and tilt table studies
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures including carotid stenting and endovascular interventions
• Proficient in equipment set up, sterile technique, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Able to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and interpret dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Interventional lab servicing Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Weekend requirement with on-call every 3rd weekend plus 1-2 weekday call shifts
• Responsible for winter holiday call coverage
• Possible floating between facilities within the health system if requested by the unit
• Equipment includes Siemens imaging systems
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and maintaining sterile fields during procedures
• Role may involve working across diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Non-licensed direct patient caregivers not listed as 'Eligible' in the IL Healthcare Worker Registry must complete in-person fingerprinting in Illinois prior to starting
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and cannot be added afterward
• Employment history with the health system and any acquired facilities must be disclosed if applicable
