Job summary

Healthforce in Hawaii seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist – Echo Tech for a travel assignment in Hilo. • Conduct 2D/3D TEEs as indicated to support comprehensive cardiac evaluation.
• Operate ultrasound systems and document findings in the EMR; relay results to physicians.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance; participate in on-call scheduling.
• Float to other departments as needed during the assignment.

Cardiovascular Technologist – Echo Tech needed for a travel assignment in Hilo, HI. Start date: 10/12/2026 for 26 weeks. Weekly pay is $2,452 to $2,538. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: Rotating. Setting: hospital-based cardiovascular imaging department. EMR: Epic is used for reporting and documentation. This role requires active credentials in echocardiography and the ability to float to other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult echocardiography across 2D, Doppler CW & PW, color flow mapping, and assess valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, and effusions.
• Conduct 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEEs) as indicated, supporting comprehensive cardiac evaluation.
• Operate the unit’s ultrasound systems (Canon i700 and i900) and ensure high-quality image acquisition; document findings clearly in the EMR (Epic) and communicate preliminary results to the interpreting physician.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance; participate in on-call scheduling and floating to other departments as needed.
• Stay current with required credentials (e.g., RDCS) and maintain active BLS; pediatric experience is a plus but not required.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Certification: RDCS credential with active AHA BLS required; ARDMS or CCI certification also accepted.
• Proficiency in adult echocardiography including 2D, Doppler, 3D TEEs, valvular and cardiomyopathy studies; hypertensive heart disease studies are included in scope.
• Ability to work in a hospital environment with rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities; willingness to float to other departments as needed.
• Pediatric experience is a plus but not required.
• EMR experience, with Epic familiarity preferred.
