American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular Med/Surg RN for a night-shift travel assignment in Urbana, Illinois. The contract runs 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week and three 12-hour shifts.

Ideal candidates hold an Illinois RN license with BLS and ACLS, Epic EMR experience, and have recent Med/Surg or cardiovascular post‑op care experience (CABG, thoracotomy or vascular). Local candidates must not apply; travel is required.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted).
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of one year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg night shift position requiring recent Epic and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular Medical-Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
• Night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provides direct care to cardiovascular surgical patients, including implementing and modifying plans of care
• Adheres to hourly rounding, hospital, and unit-based competencies
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Proactively assists patients, families, and colleagues in a collaborative environment
• RTO not to exceed 7 days within a 13-week contract
• Contingent workers cannot remain on assignment for more than one year at a time and must take a six-month break before returning
