Newsandtribune in Paducah, KY seeks a Surgical Technologist/First Assist (CSFA) to support cardiothoracic procedures within a 15 OR hospital setting. The successful candidate will serve as the surgeon's chief assistant under supervision and participate in case setup, sterile technique, and instrument passing.

Requirements include NBSTSA CSFA credential, completion of a Surgical First Assistant Program, BLS, and licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have NBSTSA CSFA credential.
• Technical diploma or military training in surgical technology.
• Completion of Surgical First Assistant Program required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Act as surgeon's chief assistant in the operating room under supervision.
• Assist with case setup, sterile field maintenance, and instrument passing.
• Perform first assist duties in cardiothoracic procedures and other surgeries.
• Clamp, cauterize, tie, and apply hemostatic agents as needed.
• Position patients and assist with sterile draping; transport instruments to Central Sterile Processing.
• Ensure operating suite disinfection and readiness for next case.
• Collaborate with nurses and staff for post-case cleaning duties.
