Job summary

Bronson Healthcare is hiring a CVOR Surgical Tech First Assist to join the cardiac surgical team. The role collaborates with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure safe, high-quality care for patients of all ages in a full-time setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, accredited Surgical Technologist program, CST certification, and CST First Assistant training, plus BLS by CORE orientation. Strong communication and composure under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is required and completion of an accredited CST First Assistant program.
• Demonstrated competency in most surgical procedures and ability to perform endoscopic vein harvesting independently.
• BLS certification required by completion of CORE orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon and OR team to provide safe, efficient surgical care.
• Maintain surgical field and prepare equipment for procedures.
• Scrub in and perform intraoperative duties as First Assistant on cardiac procedures.
• Read and interpret data from equipment and maintain patient confidentiality.
