American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Step-down RN with cardiac post-op experience for a 13-week day shift assignment in Dayton, OH. The role requires an Ohio RN license (compact allowed), BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and 1.5+ years of RN experience with SD/PCU 1:5 mix.

Epic EMR experience and ability to interpret cardiac strips are essential. Responsibilities include care on a 36-bed step-down unit, continuous telemetry, and carting out cardiac drip titration with 4x12 hour day shifts.

Qualifications

• Active OH RN license or compact license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience
• SD or PCU experience with 1:5 ratio required
• CABG and valve post-op experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an online EKG competency assessment
• Read and interpret cardiac strips and titrate cardiac drips
• IV start experience

Responsibilities

• Step-down unit care for post-op open heart management (CABG, valve)
• Manage thoracotomy and lung cases (pneumothorax, chest tube)
• Advanced cardiac patients on telemetry
• Targeted patient ratios 1:4–6
• Day shift 4x12 hours (7:00–19:30)
• Work every other weekend and holiday
• May float within hospital or to nearby Premier Health campuses
• Provide nursing care for pre/post-op cardiac surgery and telemetry patients
• Cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
