Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced RN with wound care expertise to manage patients with altered skin integrity due to wounds and to provide pre/postoperative education for ostomy patients. You will work with physicians and the nursing team to assess, plan, and perform patient care.

Required is an Alabama RN license and a nursing degree; a BSN is preferred. WCC is a plus; BLS is required or to be obtained within 30 days. Depending on the unit, ACLS/PALS may be needed.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in Alabama required.
• Wound Care Certification (WCC) preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients with altered skin integrity due to wounds and provide pre/postoperative education for ostomy patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff to assess, plan and perform patient care.

Education
