Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced RN to manage patients with wounds and altered skin integrity. You will provide pre- and postoperative education for ostomy patients and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to evaluate and plan care. Candidates must be licensed as an RN in Alabama; a BSN is preferred.

WCC is desirable, and BLS is required or to be obtained within 30 days. Depending on unit, ACLS/PALS may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an approved school of Nursing and be licensed as an RN in Alabama.
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) designation preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients with altered skin integrity due to wounds.
• Provide pre- and postoperative education for ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy patients.
• Consult with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to assess and plan treatments.
• Perform patient assessments and implement treatment plans.
