Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to provide inpatient care in an acute setting. Shifts run 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with no weekend work, serving the Homewood community.

RN responsibilities include assessment, planning, and collaboration with the medical team. Qualifications include graduation from an approved nursing program, active Alabama RN license or eNLC license, and BLS; ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC are required for certain

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
• Wound Care experience strongly preferred.

• Assesses patient needs and revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses.

• Functions as a patient and family advocate.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit/ department.
• Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
• Serves as a role model for staff and supports the hospital and nursing department’s goals and strategies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span; assesses patient data to identify age-specific needs.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to other team members on a defined group of patients.
• Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and compliant manner meeting all standards.
• Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and equipment use as defined by unit requirements.
• Prioritizes patient care per Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Practices problem identification and resolution.
• Delegates tasks to the healthcare team as appropriate.
• Communicates patient condition or unit concerns to health care team.
• Demonstrates caring practices and a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
• Maintains compliance with policies and procedures.
