Job summary

BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL in Missouri is seeking a full-time RN for the Trauma Unit (6400 & 6500) on night shifts. The role involves caring for high-acuity trauma patients in a Level I center, with a strong mentorship program and Nurse Residency. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered.

Unit teams handle diverse emergent injuries, promoting patient safety and advanced care. Nursing staff support career growth into leadership roles within the Surgical Services and Trauma units.

Qualifications

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing care.
• Educates patients and their families on illness management, post treatment home care needs, and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
