Job summary

Qualifications

  • Clinical training in trauma-focused modalities, and/or experience with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or victims of crime preferred
  • Must have valid Ohio driver’s license and meet agency requirements for driving insurability and background checks

Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive individual therapy to survivors and co-survivors.
  • Assess mental health conditions and collaboratively develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Facilitate support groups at Hope and Healing locations and community sites in Summit and Medina Counties
  • Maintain accurate documentation and statistics of clinical work with survivors
  • Coordinate service plans with staff and external providers as needed
  • Spend ~75% of time in direct client services
  • Provide education and training to staff and allied professionals
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information learned through employment

Position Summary

Provides trauma-informed individual and group therapy services to survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence in Summit and Medina Counties. Demonstrates knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and empathy with survivors from a wide range of demographic, religious and cultural identities.

Job Description
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work with LSW/LISW or Master’s degree in Counseling with LPC/LPCC
  • Clinical training in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities, and/or experience working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or victims of crime preferred
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
Role and Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive individual therapy services to survivors and co-survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking.
  • Assess mental health conditions and collaboratively develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Facilitate support groups at Hope and Healing locations, as well as community locations in Summit and Medina Counties.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and statistical information regarding clinical work with survivors in accordance with program deadlines.
  • Coordinate service plans with other staff within the agency and external service providers as needed
  • Spends approximately 75% of time in direct client services activities
  • Provide education and training to staff and other allied professionals
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information learned through one’s employment at Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times
  • Represent Hope & Healing by participating in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards and educational/certification/registry requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, non-judgmental and compassionate in crisis situations
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse populations.

  • Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time, exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work hours will be required. This position has a flexible schedule for the purposes of meeting the responsibilities of the role.
  • Must provide therapy services at office locations in Summit and Medina Counties

Salary: $50,000-$55,000 annually depending on experience
