Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is seeking a Trauma Surgical Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to join our multidisciplinary surgical team at a Level II Trauma Center. The role provides perioperative care and first/second assist across multiple specialties, in elective and emergent settings.

The position offers a base salary with a potential sign-on incentive, CME allowance, and malpractice insurance; join an experienced team with Epic EMR and strong support staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical experience.
• Ability to serve as first or second assistant across multiple specialties.
• Experience with perioperative care and intraoperative procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first or second assist on surgical cases for a variety of procedures across multiple specialties.
• Perform intraoperative technical skills such as suturing, wound closure and tissue handling.
• Participate in surgical rounding, documenting and communicating with patient progress.
• Work closely with surgeons, residents, nursing staff, anesthesiologists and other team members.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adherence to clinical protocols.
